A number of eyewitness students revealed the seconds
explosion at SMAN 72

Class X student, Raffi (not his real name) said that the explosion came from the row or middle row in the area inside the mosque.Raffi, who was outside at the time, heard the explosion and saw the source of the fire.
“After that, I was reading a prayer, after the prayer it seemed like it immediately exploded. So everyone panicked, they came out. I wasn’t inside, I was outside because it didn’t fit,” said Raffi when met outside the school area.

Raffi said that the distance between the explosion point and its position was only about one to two meters.He believes the source of the explosion came from a bomb under the carpet of the mosque or prayer room.
“It looks like the bomb was put under the carpet,” said Raffi.
Meanwhile, another student, Ilham (pseudonym), admitted that he heard an explosion while taking ablution after the sermon and before the prayer.

Ilham then saw the students inside the mosque starting to scatter and white smoke had started to rise.Ilham even said that the explosion did not just happen once, but three times.
First, from inside the mosque or prayer room.Second, the explosion came from near the canteen.And third, it comes from parks or places where students rest.
The second and third explosions occurred several minutes after the first explosion.However, the power of the second and third explosions was smaller.
“There were three explosion locations,” he said.
A canteen guard who was also attending Friday prayers, Maman, admitted that he saw fire or flames from the mosque’s greetings.At the time of the explosion, Maman admitted that he was in the area inside the mosque.
Maman also believes the explosion came from a bomb.However, Maman said there were only two explosions.
“Exactly bombs, exactly the bombs in the mosque, the two in the back corner. Two if I’m not mistaken,” said Maman.
Police have not yet confirmed whether the explosion was caused by a bomb, including the suspected perpetrator.
Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri said 54 people were injured as a result of the explosion at SMA 72 Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.Dozens of victims consisted of serious and light injuries, and were rushed to Cempaka Putih Hospital, East Jakarta.
“Initial data we received was approximately 54 people. There were minor injuries, moderate injuries, and some had gone home,” said Asep Edi to reporters, Friday.
