Ferry said the subsequent landslide caused vehicles to be unable to pass.Residents and road users were forced to stop traveling while waiting for the joint team to evacuate the soil material that had piled up on the road.
“Wait until the landslide evacuation process can be completed,” he added.
To ensure the latest conditions, the police team also flew a drone to monitor the situation from the air.Aerial photos and videos were used to see how badly the route was cut off by the landslide.
“The team has also flown drones to carry out visual monitoring of landslide points which are completely cut off and cannot be passed,” explained Ferry.
Meanwhile, the previous flood and landslide disaster that hit North Tapanuli still leaves deep sorrow.The number of victims who died has increased again to 33 people, while 15 other people are still listed as missing.
“Taput today, Tuesday (2/12), increased by 2 people, the total number of deceased victims who have been found is 33 people and 15 people who were declared missing,” said Head of Public Relations of the Taput Police, Aiptu Walpon Baringbing.
Walpon explained that the victims were found in two sub-districts, namely Adiankoting and Parmonangan.The search process by the joint SAR team is still continuing.
“Hopefully we can find what is missing. We ask for prayers from the community,” he said.
Until now, joint officers are still trying to clean up the landslide material and continue the search for victims who have not been found.Residents are asked to remain vigilant considering that high intensity rain still has the potential to flush the area.
