Sumardji, who is an exco member and manager of the Indonesian U-23 National Team, revealed the issue regarding the Garuda squad coach who is currently still vacant after Patrick Kluivert no longer occupied it.
“Just wait this week, there will definitely be results regardless of who will deliver them. What is certain is that it won’t be long, there will definitely be results,” said Sumardji when met on Wednesday (26/11) afternoon.

Sumardji emphasized that the selection of the Indonesian National Team coach carried out by the PSSI exco adhered to the rules.
“But again, we will continue to carry out this mechanism in accordance with the existing PSSI statutes. This means that whatever the name of the [potential coach] is, we will bring it here and we will discuss it at the Exco meeting forum, after that we will decide,” he explained.
Sumardji confirmed that currently there are five candidates for the Indonesian National Team coach, but did not wish to mention the names or countries of origin of the figures in question.
Sumardji also explained that the PSSI exco was working with the PSSI Technical Director, Alexander Zwiers, to go interview prospective Indonesian National Team coaches.
“Tonight [Wednesday (26/7)] there are several Exco friends who will be leaving first. There are two people who will go there first. And Dirtek Alexander also left yesterday [Tuesday (25/7)]. So later we will go there. Later we will meet together in Europe and according to the existing schedule, in these weeks we will be able to immediately conduct interviews,” said Sumardji.
