The following is a synopsis of Pangku.
Pangku tells the story of a woman named Sartika (Claresta Taufan) who left her hometown.He moved to Pantura with the aim of looking for a new and better life.
In the middle of his journey, he meets Maya (Christine Hakim), the owner of a coffee shop in the Pantura area who is known to be friendly.Maya accommodated and cared for Sartika when she was heavily pregnant until she gave birth.

However, Maya’s kindness had hidden intentions.Maya takes advantage of Sartika’s situation and forces her to work in a coffee shop.
Sartika is forced to serve coffee shop customers physically and emotionally.It’s a practice known as “kopi pangku,” where customers enjoy coffee while holding Sartika on their lap.
Initially Sartika refused this job, but as a single mother she was forced to do it in order to raise her only son, Bayu.
Until one day, Sartika met a customer named Hadi (Fedi Nuril), a fish truck driver who often stopped by.
Hadi is different from other customers because he doesn’t see Sartika’s past as a bad thing, but instead loves her with a sense of sincerity.
Day by day, feelings grow between them.Hadi invites Sartika to get married and start a new life.From Hadi’s support and sincerity, Sartika begins to have the courage to challenge the circumstances that limit her.
He realized that all this time he had only been a tool for other people’s interests.Sartika then tried to find a way to get out of the job that trapped her.
The film Pangku also stars Devano Danendra and Christine Hakim.The screenplay for this film was written by Reza Rahadian as well as the film director and Felix K.
The film Pangku won four prestigious awards in the 2025 Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) Vision Awards program, namely the KB Vision Audience Awards, FIPRESCI Awards (International Film Critics Federation Awards), Bishkek International Film Festival-Central Asia Award and Face of the Future Award.
The film Pangku will be shown starting November 6 in cinemas.
