The following is a synopsis of The Informer at Trans TV Cinema.
Several years ago, Peter Koslow (Joel Kinnaman) was released early from prison on the condition that he work as an undercover informant for the FBI’s New York City field office.
After making his way into a Polish crime organization, he will provide compelling evidence to his handler, Special Agent Wilcox (Rosamund Pike), to indict crime boss Ryszard “General” Klimek (Eugene Lipinski).
Koslow was equipped when he smuggled a large amount of fentanyl through the Polish consulate with the intention of sending it to the General.However, Koslow’s cohort, Staszek (Mateusz Kościukiewicz), finds out about the potential buyer and deviate from the plan.
Meeting the buyer, Koslow quickly deduces that he is an undercover police officer.As tensions arose, the officer attempted to arrest Koslow, but Staszek killed him.
Koslow and Staszek were then brought before Klimek, and Koslow was returned to prison for running the drug trade on behalf of the General.Initially reluctant, Koslow agrees after the lives of his wife and daughter are threatened.
Wilcox told Koslow that he would continue to act as an informant while incarcerated, and in return he would be released upon completion.

The Informer is an adaptation of the novel Three Seconds by Roslund & Hellstrom.This film was directed by Andrea Di Stefano from a script he wrote with Matt Cook and Rowan Joffe.
The novel Three Seconds was first released in 2009 in Swedish and then translated into English in 2010. This novel won a number of awards, including Best Swedish Crime Novel 2009 and The Great Readers’ Prize for Best Crime Novel of the Year.
The Informer itself received a fairly good reception from critics, with some saying it was a pleasant and suspenseful surprise.This film stars Joel Kinnaman, Rosamund Pike, Common, Ana de Armas, and Clive Owen.
