Mohammad Nuh stated that his party would soon hold a meeting to determine the schedule

to definitively elect the general chairman.
Discussion of the conference schedule emerged at the Syuriyah Plenary meeting which appointed KH Zulfa Mustofa as Acting General Chair replacing Yahya Cholil Staquf, Tuesday (9/12).
Nuh said the schedule for the Congress had not yet been determined.However, according to him, Acting Ketum Zulfa, one of them, has the task of leading PBNU until the Congress is held before or close to the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday in 2026.

“Therefore, he will lead PBNU as Acting General Chair carrying out his duties until the congress which, God willing, will be held in 2026,” said Nuh at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta.
The schedule is one year faster if calculated from the five year period since the last Congress in 2022. However, he said that the Congress would be returned to the initial cycle, because the previous Congress in 2022 had been pushed back a year after being postponed due to Covid.
“Rais Aam has outlined that the congress in Lampung last year was postponed by one year because of Covid,” said Nuh.
“Therefore, the current congress is not being accelerated, but is returning to the original cycle. Hopefully we can do it before the Hajj holiday,” he added.
The Congress will be preceded by a series of PBNU agendas, starting from the commemoration of NU’s centenary which will be held on January 31 2026 to the Grand Conference.
The plan, said Nuh, is that Tanfidziyah PBNU under Zulfa will chair a meeting on Saturday (20/12) to discuss this matter.
Gus Yahya’s camp meanwhile stated that the majority of PBNU functionaries rejected the discourse of impeaching the general chairman and stated that they obeyed the call of the NU Elders and Mustasyar Forum which called for the organizational conflict to be stopped and resolved.
