Kuo said the operation was not limited to the Taiwan Strait, but extended from the southern Yellow Sea, to the East China Sea near the Diaoyu Islands and on to the South China Sea and even the West Pacific.
“This does pose a threat and impact on the Indo-Pacific and the entire region,” Kuo was quoted as saying

Kuo did not reveal the number of Chinese ships involved in the military operation. However, one of the sources said Beijing’s deployment of ships was significant.
He simply urged China to exercise restraint. However, Kuo is also confident that Taiwan can overcome this.
“We are also confident that we can handle this problem well,” said Kuo.
The Chinese Armed Forces and Ministry of Foreign Affairs have not yet commented on the allegations or confirmed the military operation.
“I want to emphasize just saying consistently recognize the defensive policy,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian.
Jian also said China’s navy and coast guard operate strictly in relevant waters in accordance with China’s domestic laws and international laws.
“I urge the parties concerned not to overreact or engage in baseless sensationalism,” he said.
Previously, Taiwan’s intelligence chief Tsai Ming-yen said the months of October to December were the peak season for China’s “annual evaluation exercises”.
Intelligence reports also reveal that China operates more than 90 ships in East Asian waters as of Thursday morning local time. This number is down from previous days when 100 ships were deployed.
China also reportedly simulated attacks on foreign ships by deploying fighter jets and a number of ships in the Taiwan Strait.
They also carry out blocking drills in case foreign troops deploy assistance to defend Taiwan.
This large-scale deployment comes at a time when relations between China and Japan are burning due to Takaichi’s statements regarding Taiwan.
In early November, Takaichi emphasized that an armed attack on Taiwan could be the basis for Japan to deploy troops as part of the concept of collective defense.
China’s Foreign Ministry then urged Takaichi to withdraw his statement. However, the PM was reluctant to do so.Relations between the two countries are increasingly heating up.
At the same time, the Taiwanese government under President Lai Ching te increased the defense budget for the next eight years by US$40 billion.
Lai emphasized that the budget was to modernize Taiwan’s weapons, especially in air defense.
China has always considered Taiwan as part of their sovereignty.Meanwhile, the island continues to strive for independence.
On various occasions, China has emphasized that it will use all means if necessary by force to defend Taiwan.
