Head of the Tanjung Perak Prosecutor’s Office, Ricky Setiawan, said that the confiscation of the cash evidence was part of the evidentiary process and efforts to recover state financial losses.

“The investigative team has confiscated IDR 70 billion in cash. This money will later be presented at trial as evidence and as a form of implementing restorative justice,” said Ricky, Wednesday (5/11).
Ricky explained that the money that had been confiscated would be deposited in another holding account (RPL) belonging to the Republic of Indonesia Prosecutor’s Office through one of the state-owned banks partnering with the Tanjung Perak Prosecutor’s Office, until there was a court decision that had permanent legal force.
“Later, based on the court’s decision, it will be determined exactly how much the loss to the state will be and how much compensation the defendants must pay,” he said.
During the investigation process, investigators examined more than 41 witnesses and several experts.Apart from that, the Prosecutor’s Office also conducted searches at the offices of PT Pelindo Sub Regional 3 and PT APBS last Thursday (9/10).
From the results of the search, the investigative team confiscated a number of project documents, two laptops and several cellphones which were suspected to be related to the alleged corruption in the harbor pool filling project.
“We found a number of documents in both hard copy and electronic form which are important clues in the evidentiary process,” explained Ricky.
Ricky said the value of this pool project reached IDR 196 billion.As for the mode of corruption, when the self-estimated price (HPS) was prepared, there was a discrepancy or overestimation.
“The project value is IDR 196 billion,” he said.
According to him, the investigation process is still ongoing.Once the evidence is deemed sufficient and there is a match between witness statements, letters and other clues, the suspect will be identified immediately.
“When the evidence is sufficient and we have confidence, we will announce who the parties will be held responsible for in this case,” said Ricky.
“The legal process will continue. Refunding the money does not stop the criminal process. We will continue to resolve this case according to applicable regulations,” he added.

Pelindo Regional 3 Legal and Public Relations Senior Manager Karlinda Sari said that his party confirmed the process of confiscating IDR 70 billion by the Tanjung Perak Prosecutor’s Investigation Team.Karlinda said the funds had been entrusted to the Tanjung Perak District Attorney’s treasury as part of the ongoing investigation process.
“We respect all ongoing legal processes and express our full commitment to being cooperative and transparent in supporting the actions of law enforcement officials. We believe that this process will proceed objectively and professionally,” said Karlinda in her statement, Wednesday (5/11).
He added, since the beginning of this process, the company has been and will be cooperative in every stage of the ongoing legal process, starting from examinations and requests for information required by law enforcement officials.
Apart from that, good communication and coordination is also actively established with the Tanjung Perak District Prosecutor’s Office. This indicates synergy between institutions in efforts to handle ongoing legal problems.
“Pelindo is open and cooperative with all ongoing legal processes. We have fulfilled all the files and data needed to support the deepening of this problem,” he said.
Pelindo Regional 3 also hopes that the public can provide space for law enforcement officers to resolve this case professionally, while maintaining objectivity and trust in the applicable legal process.
