Aksa Cargo Freight Train

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, Luqman Arif, revealed that on Wednesday morning, at around 08.04 WIB, the Aksa Cargo freight train carrying 30 flat cars experienced operational problems near the PJL 4 level crossing, Surabaya Pasar Turi Station.
“The Aksa Cargo Freight Train (KA 2519) connecting Kalimas – Tanjung Priok experienced a derailment on the Mesigit – Surabaya Pasar Turi road. The 3rd, 4th and 5th series of flat carriages experienced a derailment of a total of 8 US,” said Luqman.
Luqman said that the efforts made to handle this included evacuating carriages that had not derailed to Sidotopo Depot and Surabaya Pasar Turi Station.
“The KAI Daop 8 Surabaya team has also brought in heavy equipment and started evacuating the carriage that derailed ,” he said.
Due to this incident, a number of passenger trips experienced impacts or travel disruptions, including: Jayabaya Train, Arjonegoro Commuter Line Train, and Mutiara Timur Train.
“We apologize to all customers and the public for the travel disruption that occurred this morning. Our team has moved quickly to evacuate the train and normalize the route so that train travel can run safely and smoothly again. We ensure that the entire process is carried out according to safety procedures,” he said.
KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, he said, is also committed to providing the latest information regularly, and is grateful for the understanding of affected customers.
