Initially the masses came to the Dairi Police Headquarters using pick-up vehicles to demonstrate.Then they submitted their demands asking the police to release a suspect in the PT Gruti vandalism case.This action was closely guarded by the police and Satpol PP.However, this action was not conducive.
The crowd, dominated by women, threw rocks and glass bottles at the Dairi Police Headquarters.The officers providing security were immediately in disarray.

Officers appealed to the crowd not to act disorderly, and to continue to express their opinions in an orderly manner.Even though they had been given warnings, some of the crowd continued to act aggressively by throwing objects at the officers.
“The authorities then took law enforcement steps against a number of people suspected of being provocateurs to prevent widespread disruption of public order and security,” said Head of Public Relations of the Dairi Police, Ipda Rinkon Manik.
As a result of the throwing action, he added, 10 Dairi Police personnel were injured.Two of them suffered injuries to their heads and ears.The injured officers have received medical treatment at Sidikalang Regional Hospital.
“The condition of all the injured personnel has now improved. Most of the injuries suffered by the members were minor, but two personnel had to be treated for head and ear injuries,” he said.
He added that the Dairi Police remained committed to maintaining a conducive security and social security situation and would take firm action against any anarchist actions that had the potential to disrupt public security.
“We urge the entire community to remain calm and not be easily provoked. All aspirations will be accommodated and followed up in accordance with applicable legal provisions,” said Rinkon.
He said that several people who were detained were being questioned by investigators for the purposes of further legal proceedings.The situation around the Dairi Police Headquarters has also gradually become more conducive.
“Several people have been detained to undergo further legal proceedings. Likewise, officers are still on guard to anticipate unwanted incidents,” he said.
