Habib asked the Chairman of the KY Selection Committee (Pansel) Dhahana Putra about the diplomas of the prospective KY members. He admitted that he did not want to be blamed again, as in the case of accusations of Arsul’s fake diploma.
“Because it’s a bit difficult, there is input regarding our Pak Arsul Sani who is being blamed now, sir,” said Habib at a meeting at the Parliament Complex, Central Jakarta, Monday (17/11).
According to Habib, checking the authenticity of a diploma is not an easy matter. Moreover, his party also does not have forensic capabilities.
So one way that can be done is to ensure that the campus issues the diploma.
“Because we read this, read one document, we don’t have the ability to forensically judge whether it is genuine or not, but the document must be genuine. But checking the campus is like what the mechanism is,” said Habib.
The Gerindra Party politician then asked whether the Pansel Committee had a mechanism to analyze the authenticity of the diplomas of the seven KY member candidates.
“It’s possible that there are correct documents but the campus doesn’t exist. Is that so? Is there a mechanism like that, sir?”Habib said.
Responding to this, the Chair of the Select Committee for prospective KY members, Dhahana Putra, said that the formal requirements for prospective members include sending a diploma with a legalized copy.
“As a formal requirement, each candidate submits the latest legalized diploma document. That is a document that we use for further processing,” he said.
Meanwhile, members of the Widodo Select Committee said that their party had checked and verified the copy of the diploma with the original document. However, according to him, Commission III can carry out re-verification through the Ministry of Higher Education (Kemendikti) if it wants to confirm again.
“But if the leadership then wants to delve deeper into Higher Education, of course, right?
