The government will inaugurate the Refinery Development Master Plan refinery project
(RDMP) Balikpapan
on December 17th.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia said this after meeting Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Thursday (20/11) today.
“The plan, God willing, will be prayed for, on December 17,” said Bahlil at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

Bahlil said the plan to inaugurate the largest refinery in Indonesia was one of the things reported to Prabowo today.
If the refinery is inaugurated, Bahlil is optimistic that Indonesia will achieve self-sufficiency in diesel and aviation fuel by 2026
On a separate occasion, Bahlil said that the Balikpapan refinery was in line with Indonesia’s efforts to produce 50 percent biodiesel (B50) in the future.
Bahlil added that thanks to the Balikpapan RDMP project and the B50 policy, the supply of diesel in Indonesia will be excessive (
oversupply
).
Therefore, he also ensured that the government would not import diesel fuel in 2026.
