, Maluku now looks unkempt.
The tomb of the king of Kasunanan Surakarta stands on an area of more than 20 meters.The gate that previously faced the main road and was once closely guarded by palace guards is now impassable because access is not given because it is covered by a towering wall.
Pakubuwono VI’s grave is actually looked after by Iksan Amar and his wife.Iksan claims to be the sixth generation who still cares for the graves of his ancestors to this day.

In the past, he said, the tomb of Pakubuwono VI was designed to be open.The building was built by a Head of the Maluku High Prosecutor’s Office who was claimed to still have Sri Pakubuwono’s lineage.
“The poles are still strong, thank God they were not eaten by termites, the wood is made of iron wood, so it lasts a long time, but maintenance is still lacking,” he said to journalists, Monday (10/11).
Iksan admitted that the tomb of Sri Pakubuwono VI had not been touched by the local government.Even though he had gone back and forth to the Governor’s building and the Maluku DPRD.He hopes that the grave of the national hero can be paid attention to.
Iksan hopes that the tomb can be used as a tourist destination, especially for students who want to study history.They can also get information and stories related to Sri Pakubuwono VI until he was exiled to Ambon.
“We also want to propose to schools to include the history of the hero Sri Pakubuwono as an extracurricular,” he said.
Sri Susuhunan Pakubuwono VI was exiled to Ambon, Maluku.He was exiled to Ambon after opposing Dutch colonialism and was suspected of supporting Prince Diponegoro.He was then arrested on June 18, 1830.
He died in Ambon, Maluku 3 June 1849. He was buried with his wife in the place where he lived called Kampung Diponegoro, Nusaniwe District, Ambon City.
After he died, his skeleton was moved to the Imogiri Bantul Yogyakarta Dormitory Cemetery Complex on March 13 1957.
According to official Dutch reports, he died as a result of an accident while sailing at sea.However, when his body was moved, evidence of a hole in the forehead of his skull that was the size of a rifle bullet was found.He is thought to have died as a result of being murdered.
After he died, he was declared a national hero based on Presidential Decree number 294 on November 17 1964.
