, North Jakarta, described the tense situation when an explosion occurred at his school, Friday (7/11).
When the explosion occurred, the student was in class.He admitted that he was far from the scene of the incident, but heard the sound of the explosion very clearly.
“I wasn’t [injured], because I was far from the location. Listened three times, because the sound was quite big [the sound]. The biggest one was first. I was in class,” he said.

As soon as the explosion occurred, the atmosphere in the classroom became panicked.Because a number of windows shattered due to vibrations from the sound of the explosion.Because of this incident, a number of students were injured.
“I didn’t [see the explosion], because we were asked to ‘run’, because many of my friends were bleeding,” said the student, recounting his experience.
“I don’t know [how many were injured]. As for my class president, his face looked like someone was stuck, like that. The worst thing was my class president, the one who was shocked was the vice class president,” he said.
The explosion at SMA 72 is known to have occurred at around 12.09 WIB.
Police have not yet confirmed that the explosion came from a bomb, including that a student was suspected of being the perpetrator.
A number of student witnesses said that the alleged perpetrator was directed at students who were also victims because they were wearing a number of semi-military attributes, including carrying weapons.
Although later, the police said the weapon was just a toy.Until around 18.00 WIB or six hours after the explosion, the SMAN 72 complex had been sterilized and was closely guarded by police.
However, a number of Gegana and Bomb Disposal technical vehicles were alerted at the location.
Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri said 54 people were injured.Dozens of victims consisted of serious and light injuries, and were rushed to Cempaka Putih Hospital, East Jakarta.
“Initial data we received was approximately 54 people. There were minor injuries, moderate injuries, and some had gone home,” said Asep Edi to reporters, Friday.
Most recently, 21 victims and 54 victims of the explosion have been discharged after receiving medical treatment.Meanwhile, 33 other victims are currently still undergoing treatment.
A total of 33 victims are still being treated, 27 of whom are at the Jakarta Islamic Hospital and six others at Yarsi Hospital.
