According to Yuliot, after starting the construction stage, the giant gas field project will absorb up to 12 thousand workers.
“With an investment value of US $ 20.94 billion, the project absorbs around 12,611 workers in the development phase,” Yuliot said in the inauguration ceremony of the LNG Abadi project phase, at the Mulia Hotel Jakarta, Thursday (8/28).
According to him, the absorption of labor for this project will prioritize local workers, so that later it can help economic growth in the region.
“The multiplier effect that we hope can be truly realized and the community around the project feels firsthand the positive impact of the existence of this project,” he explained.
Yuliot hopes that this project can be on stream or start production in 2029.Thus, it will be able to further support the Net Zero Emission (NZE) target because this project has capture and carbon storage technology.
“We are committed to ensuring that this project, as well as other projects, can be with high environmental standards, including the implementation of Carbon Capture Storage or CCS,” he explained.
The President and CEO of Inpex Corporation, Takayuki Ueda, said that if the project has been running, then it can contribute up to US $ 150 billion or equivalent to Rp2,454 trillion to the domestic economy.Not only that, he said in 30 years 70 thousand jobs will be created.
“This project will contribute to the Indonesian economy not only by increasing energy security and supply availability, but also by encouraging economic growth and creating employment for 30 years,” Ueda said.
Ueda said there were five main countries that could be the export destination of the results of the Masela Block gas, such as Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, China and Thailand.
