Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, for example, were the perpetrators of the mass shooting at the Columbine Highschool Massacre on April 20 1999. Both were neo-Nazis.
Then, Dylan Storm Roof was the perpetrator of the mass shooting at Charleston Church, United States in June 2015. He is known to be a white supremacist.
Next, Alexandre Bissonnette who adheres to white supremacy. He was the perpetrator of the mass shooting at a Canadian mosque in 2017.
Then, Vladislav Roslyakov, the perpetrator of the attack at the Kerch Polytechnic, Russia in 2018, who is known to be a neo-nazi.
There is also the name of Brenton Tarrant, the perpetrator of the Christchurch mosque shooting in New Zealand in 2019. He is known to adhere to ethnonationalist beliefs.
Spokesperson for Densus 88 Anti-terror Police AKBP Mayndra Eka Wardhana said the perpetrator studied the actions of the six people whose names were written on the toy weapons and followed several similar actions.
“Even the poses and some of the symbols found are simply inspiring,” said Mayndra at a press conference, Tuesday (11/11).
“The meaning is why mix, there are lots of ideologies here but there is not one consistent ideology that he follows, this shows that this is just inspiration and there is a sequential pattern that they post on their social media communities and this is also a future aweareness for all of us regarding the existence of violence or violence in cyberspace,” he continued.
He explained that the perpetrator started looking into the violence because he felt oppressed and even vengeful.According to him, the perpetrator also felt lonely and did not know who to convey his feelings to.
“Then the person concerned also has the motivation of revenge, revenge for some of the treatment of the person concerned,” he said.
Mayndra revealed that the perpetrator carried out the search on various sites that contained acts of violence. This search then inspired the perpetrator to follow a social media community whose members admired acts of violence.
“Well, another motivation is that when some of the perpetrators commit acts of violence and then upload them to the media, the community appreciates it as something heroic,” he said.
