In an upload from the Instagram account @unlockIndonesia, it was told that when a large flash flood devastated the Central Tapanuli area, Bonandolok Village became one of the areas that was truly isolated.Landslides and tree material blocked all land access.
Residents are waiting for help without certainty, while supplies of food and basic necessities are running low.In a situation like that, Marlina took steps that not many people dare to take.
According to testimony written by unlockindonesia, Marlina walked through the forest from her village to Pandan-Sibolga City. His body was tired, his face held a story of loss, but his determination only became stronger.
“The figure of an angel and a real Mrs. Bhayangkari, Mrs. Marlina Wiguna Lumban Tobing, a Bhayangkari mother who was willing to walk through the forest from her village to Pandan City, Sibolga to seek help, made us shed tears where the look on her face seemed to tell of loss and concern over the massive flash flood disaster in the Central Tapanuli region,” he wrote.
Marlina’s face, which was full of sorrow and pain, made the team with her on the aid flight unable to hold back their tears. They realized that this woman not only brought news, but also brought hope to all her citizens. On the helicopter, not many words came out.Only soft tears reflected how heavy the burden he was carrying.
“We didn’t talk much about the aid flight with him, we only felt that the tears were so emotional and deep,” he continued.
Upon arrival at the emergency helipad, Marlina immediately guided the team to an area that could be used as a landing point. From a height, thousands of residents could be seen filling the open area, waiting for the arrival of aid helicopters. And it’s true that the route shown by Marlina is the only safe point for the Indonesian Air Force’s Super Puma helicopter to land in the village.
“He took us and guided the aid helicopter flight to Bonandolok Village which was completely isolated due to landslides and material still covering the land road to the village. We saw thousands of people waiting for the aid helicopter to arrive down there. And that’s right!!! the road guided by Mrs. Marlina had an open area so it could be a perfect runway for helicopter landings,” he explained.
When the aid in the form of basic necessities and basic necessities was dropped off, the team saw a memorable moment, Marlina meeting her family. The hug only lasted a few seconds. However, for those who watched closely, those seconds felt like eternity.
“We know, love is a strong reason to stay standing,” wrote unlockindonesia
Not long after that, the helicopter had to fly again to F. Lumban Tobing Sibolga Airport to continue another rescue mission. The sound of the plane’s engine swallowed up emotions that had not yet subsided.
For the residents of Bonandolok Village, Marlina is not just the wife of a police officer. She is a woman who risks her safety to ensure that all her citizens are not neglected.
UnlockIndonesia also gave awards to all elements who served in humanitarian operations in Sumatra, TNI AU, TNI AD, TNI AL, POLRI, Commander of Soewondo Air Base Marsma TNI Tiopan Hutapea, S.Sos., M.A.P, all AS-332 C+1 Super Puma / H-3217 helicopter crews.
