The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government plans to reduce the budget
subsidies
or
public service obligation
(
PSO
) for their own mode of transportation, such as
Transjakarta
, MRT and LRT Jakarta.
This PSO budget cut will be carried out through reducing transfer funds to regions (TKD) in the 2026 DKI Provincial Government APBD Draft.
“Commission B, where the partners are transportation which gets PSO, is Transjakarta, MRT and LRT. We ended up cutting it, so we reduced the budget for subsidies to public transportation,” said Member of Commission B DPRD DKI Jakarta M. Taufik Zoelkifli on Tuesday (4/11).

However, until now there are no details on how much PSO subsidy cuts will be implemented.However, with this policy, ticket prices for all modes of transportation in Jakarta will definitely increase.
However, regarding the issue of this increase, Taufik said that his party and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government would consider many factors, such as people’s ability and purchasing power.
So how much is the subsidy or PSO for Transjakarta tickets so far?
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the subsidy burden borne by the Provincial Government for each ticket was IDR 9,700 per ticket.According to him, subsidies of this size are too heavy if they continue to be borne by the government.
Moreover, DKI’s profit sharing fund (DBH) budget will be cut next year.
“Actually, even at the old tariff, we subsidized it per ticket, Rp. 9,700. It would be too heavy if it continued like that, especially if the DBH was cut. So for that we will make adjustments,” said Pramono last week.
