Officers hurriedly moved the 65-year-old woman’s body from the crematorium waiting room after seeing her head and arms moving.
The video was uploaded by the temple in Nonthanburi and circulated on social media.
Temple General and Finance Manager Pairat Soodthoop told the Associated Press the chronology of the incident.
Pairat said that the woman was taken by her younger brother to the Phitsanulok temple crematorium from a hospital in Bangkok, quoted from

He said he heard a knocking sound from inside the coffin before it entered the crematorium. When the coffin was opened, the woman’s body struggled.
“I was shocked enough that I asked them (the officers) to open the box and everyone was shocked,” said Pairat.
“I saw him start to open his eyes and knock on the side of the coffin. He must have been knocking for quite a while,” he added.
Pairat explained that the woman’s brother said his sister had been bedridden for two years when her health deteriorated. The woman was no longer responding and appeared to have stopped breathing two days ago.
His brother then put him in a coffin and traveled 500 kilometers to a hospital in Bangkok to donate organs according to his brother’s orders. However, the hospital refused because he did not have an official death certificate.
Pairat, who knew about this, offered free cremation so that the woman’s body was sent to the temple by her brother to be cremated.
He then advised the woman’s brother to immediately process the death certificate so that the body could be immediately processed for cremation.
During the discussion, the temple manager heard a knocking sound from inside the coffin. He then asked the officers to immediately open the coffin and found the body was still alive.
They then immediately examined her and sent the woman to the hospital.
The abbot said that the temple would cover his care and treatment costs.
A number of media in Thailand then reported that the woman experienced hypoglycemia or a severe drop in blood sugar levels. However, he was confirmed not to have heart or respiratory failure.
