TKA is a national assessment created to measure students’ academic achievements in certain subjects, in accordance with the applicable curriculum.Even though it is not mandatory, this test has an impact on students’ ability to continue their education to the next stage.
TKA will come into effect in 2025 through Permendikdasmen Number 9 of 2025 concerning Academic Ability Tests which was signed on May 28 2025 and promulgated on June 3 2025. TKA for high school and equivalent students was held last November 1-9, and for elementary and middle school and equivalent will be held in April 2026.
In a forum in Jakarta two days earlier, Mu’ti admitted that the students’ TKA results, especially in mathematics subjects, were poor.He suspected that the results were due to the teacher’s teaching methods, and solely the student’s error.
“I’ll reveal it here, even though it hasn’t been announced yet, the 2025 TKA that we’re holding, the math is also going downhill,” he said.
However, Mu’ti considered that the cause was just his guess.He is also reluctant to reveal the average value of TKA results, and will convey this through an official briefing, although it will not be published in detail.
“We won’t convey it in detail, because later the delivery will be, there will be a delivery to each student, then a delivery to the school, and a delivery to the regional government,” he said.
