Head of the Army Information Service (Kadispenad) Colonel TNI (Inf) Donny Pramono said the TNI officer at the location was Major General Achmad Adipati Karna Widjaja who currently serves as Special Staff to the Army Chief of Staff.
He explained that the TNI was investigating Achmad Adipati’s whereabouts at the disputed land location to determine the circumstances of the incident.
“Regarding the news and accusations circulating on social media regarding his whereabouts at the location of the land dispute in the Tanjung Bunga area, Makassar, we are currently tracing and exploring this information to ensure that the case is fully resolved,” said Donny when confirmed, Monday (17/11).
He explained that in principle, every TNI Army soldier, especially those holding strategic positions, is always bound by military rules and codes of ethics which require a professional, neutral attitude and not to be involved in personal or group interests outside of official duties.
“The Indonesian Army considers it important to first examine the facts and chronology objectively before providing further statements. We also hope that all parties can wait for the results of our official clarification,” he said.
Land disputes claimed to belong to the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla (JK) have been emerging for some time now.
The 16.4 hectare (Ha) land is located on Jalan Metro Tanjung, Tamalate District, Makassar, South Sulawesi.
JK claims the land is legally his and suspects it was taken over by the mafia.
Meanwhile, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid opened his voice about JK’s anger.
Nusron said that the land dispute was an old case that had been going on since 1990, before he became Minister of ATR/BPN.
Nusron revealed that there were at least four parties involved in the land dispute case that made JK angry, namely PT Hadji Kalla, PT Gowa Makassar Tourism Development (GMTD) which is affiliated with the Lippo Group, as well as Mulyono and Manyombalang Dg.Solong.
Apart from that, he also explained that the land dispute was suddenly executed and had not gone through the constellation process, so it required re-measurement.
“There was a court execution, a conflict between GMTD and other people, suddenly it was executed and the execution process had not gone through the constating process,” said Nusron when met by journalists after the 2025 National Agrarian and Spatial Planning Day Workshop at the Sheraton Gandaria Hotel, South Jakarta, Thursday (6/11).
Nusron said that his party had sent a letter to the Makassar City District Court to question the execution process.
“We have sent a letter to the District Court in Makassar City, essentially questioning the execution process because there has been no constating,” he said.
Lippo Group CEO James Riady denied that his party was involved in the land dispute in Makassar which annoyed JK.
“The land is not owned by Lippo. So it has nothing to do with Lippo. So we have no comment,” said James at the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas office, Monday (10/11).
Even so, James admitted that his company was one of the shareholders of PT Gowa Makassar Tourism Development (GMTD), which was one of the parties claiming to have rights to the disputed land.
“The land is owned by a local government company in the area called PT GMTD which is a public company, where Lippo is one of the shareholders,” he said
