Toyota Indonesia will launch a new hybrid car model at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) which will open on Friday (21/11).The alleged launch for
Veloz Hybrid
This has ‘world premiere’ status, meaning Indonesia is the first country to do it.
“See & experience hybrid EV for all at GJAW 2025,” wrote Toyota Indonesia on its social media, Wednesday (19/11).
The launch event, which is located in Hall 5A, ICE BSD City, will be broadcast live at 15.00 WIB on four platforms, namely Instagram, Faceboo, TikTok and YouTube.

Last July at the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), Daihatsu launched its first hybrid car, the Rocky e-Smart.This moment is out of the ordinary, firstly because this model was imported from Japan, not produced by Daihatsu in Indonesia.

Apart from that, Toyota did not follow suit by releasing the Raize Hybrid, which is the twin of the Rocky e-Smart.Previously, every Daihatsu-Toyota twin car always launched on the same day.
Instead of following the routine, Toyota is planning something else, namely the Veloz Hybrid.This is Toyota’s cheapest hybrid model that will be sold in Indonesia with the hope of reaching more consumers.
Even though it’s in a different direction, that doesn’t mean the Veloz Hybrid is far from Daihatsu.The platform used is likely the same as the Toyota Avanza and Daihatsu Xenia using the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA)-B.
The DNGA platform is also similar to the Toyota Yaris Cross which is produced in Indonesia.Toyota’s domestically produced Yaris Cross uses DNGA-B, different from the global version of Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA)-B.
The manufacturer of the Yaris Cross in Indonesia, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN), once said that the fuel efficiency level of the Veloz Hybrid is similar to the Yaris Cross Hybrid.
“What is clear is that fuel efficiency is better (than conventional models). Almost similar to the Yaris Cross,” said TMMIN President Director Nandi Julyanto in Jakarta, Monday (25/8).
This indicates that the Veloz Hybrid uses the 2NR-VEX 1,500 cc engine used by the Yaris Cross Hybrid.
Other information also comes from car codes that already have NJKB or Motor Vehicle Sales Value (NJKB).On the Samsat PKB Jakarta website, the codes for the suspected Veloz Hybrid are listed, namely:
1. W102RE-LBVFJ 1.5 Q HV CVT: IDR 271 million
2. W102RE-LBVEJ 1.5 0 HV CVT: IDR 291 million
NJKB is the basic value of a vehicle before taxes are accumulated to become the retail price for consumers to purchase.Currently, Toyota Indonesia sells Veloz from IDR 297.2 million to IDR 346.4 million.
