Donald Trump
claimed responsibility for the massive attack
Israel
to
Iran
on June 13 last. This statement contradicts previous US claims that Israel acted unilaterally.
“Israel attacked first. The attack was very, very powerful. I take full responsibility for that attack,” Trump told reporters on Thursday (6/11).
“When Israel first attacked Iran, it was a great day for Israel because that attack did more damage than all the other attacks combined,” added Trump, reported by Al Jazeera.

Trump’s remarks came as he urged Republicans to remove the “filibuster” in passing legislation in the Senate with a simple majority.
According to Trump, his party must first continue Senate rules, just as Israel launched war against Iran.
On June 13, Israel’s major attack on Iran killed several top generals, nuclear experts and many civilians.Iran responded by launching hundreds of missiles at Israel.
The US then joined in the attack by bombing Iran’s three main nuclear facilities. However, at the start of the attack, the US said Israel acted alone.
“Tonight, Israel took unilateral action against Iran. We are not involved in attacks against Iran, and our top priority is protecting US forces in the region,” US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said at the time.
Since the attack, Trump has repeatedly claimed that the US had “completely destroyed” Iran’s nuclear program.Meanwhile, this week, Trump himself said he had started the war in the first place.
In recent weeks, Trump has reiterated that he wants to reach a deal with Iran that would see Tehran establish formal ties with Israel.
In the early months of his second term as president, Trump opened negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program, and repeatedly emphasized that he wanted an agreement with Tehran.
