realistically resembling Donald Trump in an orange prison jumpsuit and strapped on
cross
caused discussion in Switzerland.The work, entitled Saint or Sinner, was exhibited in the city of Basel and quickly attracted public attention.
The statue by British artist Mason Storm depicts Trump with his eyes closed, his body lying on a padded white cross that is slightly tilted, presenting an image somewhere between crucifixion and execution by lethal injection.
“It looked so real, it gave us goosebumps,” Konrad Breznik, owner of the Gleis 4 gallery which displayed the work, told

“Every wrinkle and skin detail is clearly visible, so realistic it’s scary.”
Initially, the gallery planned to display this work at Basel central station last September.However, the plan was canceled because the location was too busy.
The statue was eventually installed in the street window of the Basler Kunstmeile, a pedestrian area in the heart of Basel.According to Breznik, more than 3,000 people were recorded passing by and seeing the work in just one day last Monday.
Although it sparked heated discussion, the work did not arouse public outrage.Many residents actually smiled when they saw it.

“This is a sign that we live in a democracy, that we can show things like this,” said Marit, a Norwegian living in Basel.
When asked whether this kind of work could be exhibited in the United States, he answered, “I don’t think so.”
Breznik even suggested Trump himself might like the work.“I really think Mr. Trump could see himself as a modern Jesus,” he said.
“I’m sure he believes that what he did was the right thing.”
Mason Storm is known as an anonymous artist from London with a hyper-realistic style that often combines elements of street art.He often covers his face with a balaclava or mask of his own design and is often compared to the mysterious artist Banksy for his provocative and satirical works on social hypocrisy.
On his Instagram account, Storm calls himself “a loved and hated artist, a lover of life, a pigment pusher, and a doer of action.”
According to the gallery, the work Saint or Sinner had been purchased before arriving in Basel by a well-known European collector whose identity was kept secret.
