Donald Trump
said that all citizens of the United States (US) would be given money worth US$2,000 or around Rp. 33 million from the profits from import tariffs obtained by the US.
In a post on Truth Social on Sunday (9/11), Trump said that the US is now the richest country in the world as a result of the import tariff policy he implemented.

Therefore, everyone in the US, except the rich, will be given dividends or profits of at least IDR 33 million.
“Dividends of at least US$2,000 per person (excluding high-income earners) will be given to everyone,” Trump wrote in Truth Social.
Trump said that the US currently experiences almost no inflation and is the country with the most valuable stock market.Washington, he said, is also earning trillions of dollars and is being flooded with various investments.
He also called people who opposed his import tariff policy “stupid”.
“Those who oppose tariffs are fools! We are now the richest, most respected country in the world, have barely any inflation, and are setting stock market records. 401k is the Highest EVER. We received trillions of dollars and will soon begin paying off our massive US$37 trillion debt,” he wrote.

Last week, Finance Minister Scott Bessent said the dividend could be given in various forms, one of which was a tax deduction.
“The dividend could be given in the form of a tax reduction according to the President’s agenda, which encourages tax exemptions for tips, overtime, social security, as well as free fees for car loans,” said Bessent.
Last April, Trump announced a package of import tariffs to various countries in order to overcome the US deficit.Import duties are set at varying amounts, with a basic rate of 10 percent.
Countries are finally busy negotiating with the US to reduce the size of Trump’s tariffs.The outcome of the negotiations is generally seen as favorable to Washington, although analysts also warn of potential trade shifts.
