Tuban Police Chief
AKBP William Cornelis Tanasale alias WT was removed from his position because he allegedly asked his members for deposits and cut the operational budget within the Tuban Police.
The removal from office was revealed in the East Java Regional Police Chief’s order number Sprin/2611/XII/KEP/2025 which was signed by the East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nanang Avianto on Monday, December 8 2025.
“Investigation Result Report Number: R/LHP-361/XII/2025/Paminal dated 8 December 2025 regarding allegations that AKBP William Cornelis Tanasale, S.I.K. NRP 83061364 as Head of the Tuban Police, East Java Regional Police, pressured members to make large deposits and cut the operational budget of the Tuban Police,” said the letter.

Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Commissioner Jules Abraham Abast, confirmed William’s removal from the position of Tuban Police Chief.However, he was reluctant to reveal the reason.
“AKBP WT is currently undergoing a process of further examination and investigation by Propam regarding the information received,” said Jules to the media crew, Tuesday (9/12).
Jules said that William had been temporarily removed from his position because he was undergoing an internal investigation by Propam officers from the East Java Regional Police.This, he said, was an internal Police procedure.
“As part of the procedure, the person concerned has been temporarily suspended from his duties until the examination process is complete,” he said.
Meanwhile, the position of Tuban Police Chief is temporarily filled by Kombes Agung Setyo Nugroho with the status of Acting Officer (Plt).
“Police Commissioner Agung has been appointed as a temporary replacement to ensure that services to the community at the Police continue to run as they should,” he said.
When asked about information on alleged requests for deposits from members and cuts to the operational budget as stated in the order, Jules chose not to explain further.
“Propam is carrying out further checks and investigations regarding the information received. We will provide further information after the process is complete,” he concluded.
