) claims to have acted in accordance with procedures or referring to statutory regulations in administering public information.
This UGM statement concerns the implementation of a public information dispute hearing regarding the diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (
Jokowi
) which was held at the Central Information Commission (KIP), Jakarta, Monday (17/11).
Secretary of UGM University, Andi Sandi Antonius, said that his campus appreciates the attention and input of many parties regarding the implementation of the public information dispute hearing regarding Jokowi’s academic documents at KIP RI the other day.

He emphasized that his campus, through the Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID), was committed to implementing the mandate of Law No. 14 of 2008.
“Regarding the substance of the public information dispute trial, UGM informed us that the entire process carried out was based on statutory regulations including provisions regarding the protection of personal data,” said Andi Sandi in an official UGM statement, Thursday (20/11).
Andi Sandi said that in providing information services, PPID UGM adapts service management to the provisions of Information Commission Regulation No. 1 of 2021 and its attachments.
Also, he continued, with examples of formats for requests for information and official responses.
In line with technological developments, according to Andi Sandi, UGM is developing a digital service system.
Likewise, the online information request form does not contain the applicant’s signature, but still requires uploading a photocopy of personal identification.In the form of a KTP for individuals or a deed of establishment for legal entities as part of the application requirements.
Andi Sandi said that responses to requests for information were submitted via the official PPID UGM electronic post (
[email protected]
).
He emphasized that access to this official account is limited by the UGM PPID team via a tiered substance approval mechanism.Replies via the official account are recognized by UGM and can be used by the applicant.
“In the event that the information applicant objects to the response from the UGM PPID, the applicant can submit an objection to the PPID superior, in this case the UGM Chancellor. The objection sent will be answered officially by the PPID superior with an official letterhead and electronic signature,” he explained.
Andi Sandi also emphasized the principle of UGM’s commitment to strengthening transparency, accountability and improving the quality of public information services.Internal evaluations continue to be carried out so that information service delivery becomes more responsive to community needs, while at the same time complying with the principles of information openness.
“All input will be used as evaluation material to strengthen the superior quality of public information services,” he said.
In a hearing held at KIP, Jakarta, Monday (17/11), Chairman of the Board of Commissioners Rospita Vici Paulyn Rospita questioned the existence of a number of documents that had been requested from UGM.One of them is a copy of Jokowi’s diploma.
Apart from that, Rospita also asked about the existence of other documents, namely grade transcripts, study plan card (KRS), Study Result Card (KHS) and Jokowi’s real work study report (KKN).
The petitioner in the trial was Leony Lidya with the respondents being UGM, the Indonesian KPU, the DKI Jakarta KPU, the Surakarta KPU, and the Metro Jaya Police.
