, Rodrigo Holgado is now threatened with being expelled by the club after being sanctioned by FIFA.
Holgado is currently a player for Colombian club America de Cali.According to The Star’s report, America de Cali is currently processing the process of terminating Holgado’s contract.
This refers to a post on the X social page of a sports reporter in Colombia.It is stated that Holgado will likely be released by America de Cali.

“According to a post by a sports reporter in Colombia, America de Cali, through their lawyers, is continuing the process of terminating Rodrigo Holgado’s contract, following the response of the FIFA Appeals Committee,” wrote

Previously, FIFA sentenced seven naturalized Malaysian national team players to a fine of 2,000CHF (equivalent to IDR 41.8 million) and a 12-month playing ban.
Holgado is one of seven naturalized players punished by FIFA.The other six players are Gabriel Felipe Arrocha, Facundo Tomas Garces, Imanol Javier Machuca, Joao Vitor Brandao Figueiredo, Jon Irazabal Iraurgui, and Hector Alejandro Hevel Serrano.
They were fined CHF 2,000 or around Rp. 41 million and banned from playing for 12 months.
In addition, FIFA imposed a fine of CHF 350 thousand (equivalent to IDR 7.3 billion) on FAM who were deemed guilty of carrying out the naturalization process outside of regulations.
