Shutdown is a condition when some federal government agencies have to stop operating because Congress fails to approve a spending budget.
The government shutdown began on October 1 after the Democratic Party rejected the budget bill presented by the Republican Party.Democrats have insisted that the passed budget include the health subsidy program, which is set to expire at the end of the year.
As many as 670,000 federal employees have been laid off as a result of this shutdown.Meanwhile, around 730,000 employees are currently working without pay.
“This shutdown is likely to have the biggest economic impact of any shutdown ever,” said chief political economist at Goldman Sachs, Alec Phillips, as quoted

Analysts have warned that if this condition continues, US gross domestic product (GDP) growth will be affected. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates the shutdown will reduce GDP by one to two percent.
“These impacts will be more severe if the government shutdown lasts longer,” the CBO wrote.
The CBO said that although most of the decline will eventually recover, about $7 billion to $14 billion will be permanently lost due to the shutdown.
