Chairman of the Democratic Party’s Expert Council Andi Mallarangeng stated that one thing that makes regional elections in Indonesia expensive is the effort to win the election by means of a “dawn attack”.However, the solution to overcome this, according to Andi, is not to change the election mechanism, but rather by strictly enforcing the law, limiting campaign financing or the financial cap of candidates, reducing the number of polling stations and adjusting election times.
