PDI Perjuangan spokesperson Guntur Romli questioned the reasons for reviving regional head elections by the DPRD.One of the reasons put forward so far is the high political costs of direct regional elections.However, Guntur highlighted that regional elections by the DPRD do not guarantee freedom from money politics.Furthermore, he stated that what needed to be improved was the system, such as political dowries and law enforcement and officials who should be neutral in holding elections.
