Following the occupation of the city of El Fasher in North Darfur by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, Sudanese citizens shared testimonies about the horrors they experienced during the process of taking over the city.
They described an atmosphere of fear, with gunshots heard throughout the day and houses destroyed by attacks.Many residents were forced to flee to save themselves, leaving behind their belongings and separated families.
The UN said the situation in El Fasher was deteriorating and worrying due to increasing violence against civilians, including the threat of famine and limited access to humanitarian aid
