The action of a man with the initials A (28) crashed into
car
on Jalan Fahrudin Auri, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta on Sunday (2/11) was recorded in a video and went viral on
social media
.
“It is true that someone crashed into a passing car,” said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro in his statement, Thursday (6/11).

Susatyo said that his party immediately investigated the incident after it happened.Based on information from local residents, the man with the initials A is said to have been experiencing mental disorders for a long time.
“Information from the RW Chair and residents stated that the person concerned was experiencing mental disorders and often behaved unstable,” he said.
Separately, Tanah Abang Metro Police Chief Commissioner Haris Akhmad Basuki said that until now the driver of the car that was the target of the collision had not come to the police station to report.
“Based on preliminary checks and information from residents, the incident was purely caused by the actions of a person with a mental disorder. However, the car driver has not officially reported it, so we are still waiting for information from the person concerned,” he said.
According to Haris, his party has also coordinated with the family and local RW officials to ensure A’s condition does not endanger himself or others.
“We urge the public not to immediately spread videos or information whose truth is not clear on social media. If you find a similar incident, you should immediately report it to the authorities so that it can be handled appropriately,” he concluded.
