President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga Mars Ega Legowo Putra confirmed that there was no ethanol mixture in Pertalite.So far, ethanol is only contained in Pertamina’s fuel, namely Pertamax Green with a mixture of 5 percent.

“Does Pertalite currently contain ethanol? It doesn’t contain ethanol,” said Ega, quoting detik, Friday (7/11).

Ega emphasized that the public also does not need to worry about the rumors circulating while emphasizing that the fuel with RON 90 has no ethanol mixture.
“So Pertalite currently does not contain ethanol,” he said.
Apart from that, Ega said that Pertalite is pure fuel without any water content.
This answers the question about the water content in Pertalite, which is why hundreds of motorbikes in East Java broke down simultaneously.
Pertamina has also carried out a series of tests regarding water content, and the results were not found at all.
“We also checked with visual clarity standards and color clarity of BBM to indicate whether there were contaminants in the product. So far we have found no indication of this,” said Ega.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources’ Lemigas Product Application Testing Coordinator, Cahyo Setyo Wibowo, revealed that his party had taken Pertalite samples from a number of gas stations in East Java to be tested in the laboratory.
Cahyo said Lemigas together with the Directorate General of Oil and Gas will continue to carry out further analysis, including if similar reports are found in other areas.
“Then we can convey that direct monitoring was carried out together and continued with samples sent to Lemigas. To date, we have obtained results which in legal terms are on specifications, or in accordance with the specifications set by the government, namely for the Pertalite product type. This refers to the Decree of the Director General of Oil and Gas Number 486 of 2017,” explained Cahyo.
To understand, Pertalite is one type of fuel that has received subsidies since it was designated as JBKP (Special Assignment Type of Fuel).
Regarding specifications, in the attachment to the Decree of the Director General of Oil and Gas Number 0486.K/10/DJM.S/2017, standards and quality (specifications) for type 90 gasoline marketed domestically, Pertalite has an octane number of 90, oxidation stability with a minimum limit of 360 minutes.
The maximum sulfur content is 0.05% m/m (equivalent to 500 ppm), mercaptan sulfur 0.002% m/m (equivalent to 20 ppm), and has no lead content.Pertalite has a green color with clear and bright visuals.With these specifications, Pertalite promises a longer distance.This is because the combustion produced is better.
However, not all vehicles are suitable for using Pertalite, because this fuel is only suitable for use in engines with a compression ratio of 9:1 to 10:1.
