Internal medicine specialist Aru Ariadno confirmed that there was no connection between fans and gout.The relationship between the two is said to be just a myth.
“Sleeping with a fan directly on the body does not cause an increase in uric acid or other diseases,” said Aru, Tuesday (4/11), reported

Rather than a fan, gout is caused by genetic factors and poor lifestyle.Gout can also now occur at a young age.
“In principle, gout is a metabolic disease that is usually caused by genetics or eating disorders, where the body cannot excrete uric acid due to the breakdown of purines. So, it’s not because of a fan,” Aru emphasized.
Diets that can trigger gout include consuming foods high in purine and lacking in fiber.
