“Walmart expressed its readiness to collaborate with the Indonesian government in efforts to restore the market and reputation of Indonesian products,” said Bara Krishna Hasibuan, Head of the Diplomacy and Public Communication Division of the Cesium-137 (Cs-137) Task Force in a Media Briefing at the office of the Coordinating Ministry for Food, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (12/11).
He explained that Walmart was willing because they sell shrimp and spice products from Indonesia.

“But they reminded that aspect

remains the main priority for trade needs,” he added.
On the same occasion, Bara also explained that the Cs-137 Task Force Delegation had held meetings with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the US Department of Energy (DoE) on 4-7 November.
This meeting was held as a bilateral diplomatic effort between the Indonesian government and the US.
“We have explained clearly and transparently the results of the investigation and the progress of the handling carried out by the CS-137 Task Force and the Indonesian Government,” he said.
He also explained that the meeting discussed the Task Force’s efforts in handling Cs-137 contamination which was carried out through
root cause analysis, corrective actions
, and
preventive measures.
Furthermore, Bara said that the meeting began with a meeting of high-ranking authorized officials with related parties.Then, the meeting continued with a technical level discussion involving experts in the fields of nuclear and food safety.
However, he emphasized that he could not provide a detailed discussion considering the principle of confidentiality that had been agreed with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
“We cannot convey in detail the discussions held with the US FDA because we respect the principles
confidentiality
which has been agreed upon,” he stressed.
