Thailand
to stop the hot war on the border.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet’s advisor, Suos Yara, told

that the Phnom Penh government is open to holding bilateral talks with Thailand to end the war.

“Let’s say an hour from now both parties agree to sit at the negotiating table and start communication, this would be a very good idea,” he said on Tuesday (9/12), as quoted

Even so, Suos Yara said that his party was reluctant to start the negotiation process.There must be a desire from both parties to start negotiations.
“There must be mutually agreed good intentions from both parties,” he said.
Meanwhile, Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow told Reuters on Tuesday that Cambodia must show sincerity and take the first steps to ease tensions.He also rejected third party mediation in resolving this latest conflict.
The war between Thailand and Cambodia entered its third day on Wednesday (10/12).At least 13 people were killed on both sides and hundreds of thousands of residents were displaced as a result of the conflict on this border.
Thailand and Cambodia returned to war on Monday (8/12) after a Bangkok soldier was killed in a shootout on the border at dawn Monday.
Thailand accused Cambodia of starting the attack first.Cambodia denied it and counter-accused Thailand of provoking it.
Thailand and Cambodia are currently in a ceasefire.However, the two countries have long accused each other of violating the agreement brokered by United States President Donald Trump.
The first Thai-Cambodian war erupted last July for five days.Bangkok-Phnom Penh then signed a peace agreement in Kuala Lumpur in October after being urged by Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim as chairman of ASEAN this year.
At least 48 people died and around 300,000 people were displaced as a result of the Thailand-Cambodia war in July.
On Tuesday, Trump said he would call Cambodia and Thailand to end the current war.
