West Java Provincial Government (
West Java
) officially established
UMP 2026
amounting to IDR 2,317,601 per month on Wednesday (24/12).This figure increased by IDR 126,363 or around 5.77 percent from the 2025 UMP, IDR 2,191,238.
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said that the determination of the UMP was carried out by taking a moderate position.Calculations are carried out based on a formula set by the central government, so the results are expected to accommodate various interests.
“In my view it’s ideal, but in the entrepreneur’s view it’s definitely considered too expensive. In the workers’ view it’s definitely considered too cheap, that’s normal,” said Dedi in a press conference at his office.

According to Dedi, these differences in views are normal, considering that the government is in a balancing position between the interests of the business world and the welfare of workers.
On the same occasion, the West Java Provincial Government also announced the 2026 UMK size in its region.
Head of the West Java Manpower and Transmigration Service, I Gusti Agung Kim Fajar Wiyati Oka, explained that the 2026 UMK decision fully refers to recommendations from each regional government.
“In city districts, it is in accordance with the recommendations of the regents, mayors. Yes, if the Governor’s directions are like that, no recommendations have been changed,” said Kim.
Regarding the City of Depok which previously proposed three options for the UMK size, Kim confirmed that the West Java Provincial Government chose the official recommendation from the Depok City Government, not the proposal from the labor union or employers’ association.
“Well, that will be taken later because SP (Trade Union) tends to be high, then APINDO is definitely low. So we will take the proposal from the government. Only Depok has three figures, the others have one figure,” explained Kim.
Based on the proposed UMK data that has been determined, the 2026 Bekasi City UMK is the highest, reaching IDR 5.99 million.
Meanwhile, Banjar City and Pangandaran Regency are among the areas with the smallest UMK with IDR 2.36 million and IDR 2.35 million respectively.
“Actually, in terms of the minimum wage increase, Banjar is in the bottom three with Pangandaran,” he explained.
