“Currently, joint officers continue to try to provide assistance to residents affected by the flood. The joint team is also controlling traffic. From temporary data, there are 219 heads of families (KK) affected by the flood at this time,” he said.
Since Monday (24/11) evening, joint officers from BPBD, sub-district, SAR, Police and PMI have been in the field to provide assistance in evacuating residents to a safe place.
Meanwhile, Pasaman Subdistrict Head Andre Affandi said traffic flow was still interrupted until Tuesday (25/11) morning.The overflow of the Batang Pasaman River was caused by the high rainfall that hit the area since Monday (24/11) morning.
Currently, Tuesday (25/11) morning, the standing water inside residents’ houses has decreased by around 20 centimeters, but the water level is still 90-100 centimeters outside the houses.
“Hopefully the water will recede quickly and vehicles can use that road again,” he hoped.
Pasaman Sector Police Chief (Kapolres) AKP Zulfikar confirmed that as of Tuesday (25/11) at 08.00 WIB the flow of transportation was still interrupted because water was still covering the road.
“Officers have been in the field directing traffic and since Monday (24/11) evening have helped evacuate residents to safer places,” he said.
