The VAR card is a new system used by FIFA to support the running of matches.This system is known as Football Video Support (FVS).
FVS is different from video assistant referee (VAR).However there are slight similarities.The similarity is that the referee is reviewing the video on the side of the field to make a decision.

In practice, this VAR or FVS card can be carried out if the respective head coach submits a review request to the referee.
The way the trainer submits a review request is by giving a finger swirl signal in the air.This signal must be visible to the competition device.
VAR cards can be used for only four things.First, goals or not.Second, penalty or not.Third, direct red card or not.Fourth, player identification errors.

Later, if the review request is fulfilled, the main referee will review the replay in the Referee Review Area (RRA).The referee’s initial decision will be changed if an error is proven.
In the 2025 U-17 World Cup regulations, it is stated that each team has two opportunities to review requests during the match.If after the review, the referee’s decision changes, the team still has two review requests.However, if the initial decision does not change, one review request right will automatically be lost.
This pattern is similar to a challenge in a badminton match.Each successful challenge does not reduce the number of challenges in hand.
The VAR card is a new FIFA innovation to give coaches a greater role in match fairness, as well as train young players to understand the application of technology.
