Patrick Kluivert decided to call goalkeeper Nadeo Argawinata for the match against Saudi Arabia and Iraq in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. What was the reason for Kluivert to call Nadeo?
Indonesian national team manager, Sumardji, ensured that Nadeo became an additional player called Kluivert to fight Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
Sumardji said that the Borneo FC goalkeeper will leave for Saudi Arabia separately today, Thursday (2/10) afternoon, because Kluivert just made a decision on Wednesday (2/10) night.

“Nadeo also [departs] today. Nadeo will be a plane at 3 o’clock in the evening [afternoon], not together. Because last night I just told. Then we told Nadeo.
Sumardji confirmed that the entry of Nadeo was not to replace the existing goalkeeper.The former Bali United goalkeeper actually became an additional player.
Sumardji said Nadeo was called as a form of anticipation following the condition of Emil Audero Mulyadi, who suffered a muscle injury ahead of the Udinese vs Cremonsese match last weekend.
“First of Emil’s condition to date. Emil monitoring from our team, talking between physiotherapy, still in the process, the healing process. Yesterday there was a minor injury and now it is still being made to heal efforts from the club. But communication continues,” said Sumardji.
Thus Kluivert brought four Indonesian national team goalkeepers for Saudi Arabia and Iraq: Emil Audero, Maarten Paes, Ernando Ari Sutaryadi, and Nadeo Argawinata.
“Then if Maarten, Maarten, his condition can really take part in training in the team. And it will remain, the two of them [Emil and Paes] departed, that was on the 5th [October] from their respective clubs, from their respective countries,” said Sumardji.
