worthy of the title of National Hero?
President Prabowo Subianto has received the names of 49 National Hero candidates from the Chairman of the Council for Titles, Services and Honors (GTK), Fadli Zon.Two of them are Suharto and the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur).
Fadli Zon, who is also Minister of Culture, said that of the 49 names of candidates, 24 of them were names on the priority list.

Apart from Suharto and Gus Dur, other figures proposed to receive the title of National Hero are female labor activists from Nganjuk Marsinah, clerics from Bangkalan Syaikhona Muhammad Kholil, Muhammad Yusuf Hasyim, M. Jusuf from South Sulawesi, and Ali Sadikin who is the former Governor of DKI Jakarta.
The title of National Hero is planned to be announced on Monday (10/11), to coincide with the commemoration of Heroes’ Day.
