Police confirmed that the perpetrator
hate speech
on social media known by the name
Resbob
has been arrested.Resbob previously went viral because it offended Persib Bandung or Viking supporters and the Sundanese people.
Head of Public Relations of the West Java Regional Police, Police Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, said that the YouTuber with the name Muhammad Adimas Firdaus Putra Nasihanesbob was arrested by police in the East Java (Jatim) region.After being arrested, the person concerned was immediately taken to Jakarta for initial examination.
“The perpetrator of Resbob’s hate speech has been arrested in East Java. Currently he has been taken to Jakarta, before being taken to Bandung,” said Hendra, Monday (15/12).

He added that the legal process against Resbob would be handled further by West Java Regional Police investigators.After the initial series of examinations are completed in Jakarta, the perpetrator will be transferred to Bandung to undergo a further investigation process.
The West Java Regional Police emphasized that the handling of this case was carried out professionally in accordance with applicable legal provisions, considering that the alleged hate speech had caused widespread unrest and reactions in the community.
Previously, Wijaya Kusuma University Surabaya (UWKS) imposed strict sanctions on Resbob.The sanction is in the form of revocation of student status or dropping out (DO).
UWKS Chancellor Rr Nugrahini Susantinah Wisnujati said that Resbob was indeed registered as a student at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP).However, the older brother of content creator Muhammad Jannah alias Bigmo is said to have not attended the lectures in full.
