Zohran Mamdani won the election for mayor of New York City in the election held on Tuesday (4/11) local time.
Mamdani will become the first Muslim mayor of the largest city in the United States, after defeating two other strong candidates, namely Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa.
Mamdani is a 34 year old socialist who was born in Uganda and raised in New York City.During the campaign, he focused on reducing the cost of living for New Yorkers, building support through his relaxed personal style and friendly image on social media.
UPS Cargo Plane Crashes and Explodes on Takeoff in Kentucky, USA
A cargo plane belonging to the United Parcel Service (UPS) crashed and exploded shortly after taking off at Muhammad Ali International Airport in Louisville, Kentucky, United States on Tuesday (4/11) afternoon local time.
According to FAA records, the plane that crashed was an MD-11 cargo plane.Meanwhile, Flightradar24 data shows that the plane, which UPS began operating in 2006, had flown from Louisville to Baltimore the day before, before returning to Louisville.
The plane climbed to a height of 175 feet and reached a speed of 184 knots before making a sharp descent.UPS has not yet provided official information about fatalities or injuries in the accident.
Singapore Will Punish Scam Perpetrators
The Singapore government will punish perpetrators of fraud or scams with a minimum of six lashes, a minister told parliament on Tuesday (4/11).
This action is their attempt to ‘combat’ fraud groups after recording the highest losses due to these crimes.
As the second largest economy in Southeast Asia, Singapore has lost more than US$2.8 billion (equivalent to Rp. 44.8 trillion) due to fraud from 2020 to the first half of 2025, said Ann.
According to him, around 190,000 cases of fraud were reported during that period.This makes Singapore tighten its actions against fraud groups.
